Hanne Mi S. Sauge, born in Oslo 1961, Norway, is a full-time studio potter who has owned a studio on Zakynthos Island, Greece, since 1990. She is represented in public and private collections. Her ceramics are reviewed and exhibited at various locations throughout Greece and abroad. Her studio is situated on the main road in the southern part of Zakynthos Island, in the Vassilikos region.
When the form, colour and strength of a well-produced ceramic cup merge with the smell and taste of coffee or tea, the morning is a success.
She completed studies in arts and crafts combined with a touch of teaching experience. She producse tableware for everyday use, ceramic sculptures, tiles for the bathroom and kitchen, sinks, fountains and much more! All stoneware is fired at high temperatures of around 1270 degrees Celsius. Cadmium or Lead are not used in any of the glazes, so all of her products are food safe.
She believes that the forms and colours of her work are inspired by the simplicity of her northern homeland (Norway) and spiced up with more southerly rich Mediterranean temperament and colours.
From May to October, her studio and showroom are open to the public between 9.00 am and 08.00 pm. During the winter, it is best to call before you visit.
She gladly takes commissions, special orders. Give her a new idea and she will try her best to realize it for you.
