Giostra is one of the oldest events to happen in the island of Zakynthos and at the same time the only one to take place in the Greek Area. Giostra is a mounted ancient competition in which participants who took part were fighting for the prize. First prize being a silver sword and a pair of silver spurs for second place and to honor the maiden in which they chose to compete for.
